Navigating Your APR Membership
New to APR membership? Learn how to access and manage your membership in the APR Member Hub.
How APR Membership Is Structured
Your APR membership belongs to your company, not an individual. Your company’s membership is managed by a primary contact, the only person at your company who can:
- Receive dues invoices. The primary contact receives your company’s annual renewal invoice at the end of the year and is responsible for distributing it within your company to ensure your dues are paid on time.
- Add and remove users. You can have as many individual employees as you’d like under your company membership. Each one has their own unique login. The primary contact is the one with permissions to invite new users and remove old ones.
- Vote in board elections on behalf of your company (or appoint a proxy if they can’t attend the APR Fall Member Meeting where the election takes place).
Keeping Your Membership Up to Date
APR membership renews annually on January 1, and dues invoices typically go out about 60 days before that. The invoice will be sent via email to your company’s primary contact.
Not sure who your primary contact is, or need to change it to someone else? Just let us know!
Keeping us updated on the correct primary contact can help ensure your company’s membership does not lapse and your colleagues maintain access to their APR accounts.
Updating Your Profile
Accessing Your Profile
Log in to the Member Hub and, if you are not taken directly to your profile, click on “my profile” at the top of the homepage.
Company Profiles
If you are the primary contact, you will see your organization’s name instead of your name. This means your profile is representing your organization, not you as an individual—for example, users will see this profile when they click on your company’s name in the member directory.
You can see which employees have an account under your company’s membership in the Sub-accounts tab.
Individual Profiles
If you see your name listed in your profile, you are not the primary contact. This means your profile is representing you as an individual, not your organization.
You can see who else has an account under your company membership in the My Associates tab (this tab will say Sub-accounts if you are the primary contact).
Editing Your Profile
To edit your profile, you can either click on the edit button on the top right of the Professional Information section, or you can click on your name at the very top (if you’re the primary contact, it will be your company name) and select Account & Settings from the dropdown.
If you are the primary contact, you will be editing your organization’s profile, not your own personal one. Information in your organization’s profile will appear in the member directory unless indicated otherwise.
When you’re done making changes, scroll down and click the save changes button at the bottom.
Adding and Removing Users
If You’re the Primary Contact:
Where to go: Edit your company profile in the member hub and click Information & Settings in the menu on the left side of the screen. Then choose the Sub-accounts tab at the top. Please note you can only access this tab if you are the primary contact. (See video for a visual demonstration.)
Invite new users: In the Sub-accounts tab you’ll see how many seats you have available under your membership, as well as a number of options for adding users. Copy the URL under Your Sub-accounts Direct Link and send it to the user you want to add.
Remove inactive users: At the bottom of the page here you can remove any sub-accounts that are no longer active by clicking the red X button next to their name.
As many as you want! We encourage APR members to get many employees involved from a variety of roles and departments. You will be able to add up to 20 users initially, but please contact us if you need more seats.
Having a member login allows you to:
- Receive APR newsletters and email updates
- Register for events such as APR Member Meetings at the member rates
- Access members-only content such as member meeting materials, communications tools, the Global Compliance Catalog, and more
Registering for Events
One of the best ways to get the most out of your APR membership is attending APR Member Meetings. Check our Member Meetings page for our schedule of upcoming member meetings, and see what other events are coming up on our Upcoming Events page.
To get the member rate for an APR Member Meeting or other event, you must be logged in to an APR member account.
Download Payment Receipts
You can download an invoice showing how much you paid in the Invoices tab. You can find this from your profile by clicking your name at the top of the page and selecting Account and Settings from the dropdown. Then choose Payments & History from the menu on the left, and make sure you’re on the Invoices tab at the top.
Change the Filter by status dropdown to Any Status to view all invoices. (See video for a visual demonstration.)
Renewing Your Membership
APR membership operates on a calendar year cycle, and annual dues payments are due on January 1 of each year. Dues invoices typically go out 60 days before that (on November 1) to your company’s primary contact. Primary contacts are responsible for distributing the renewal invoice within their organization to ensure dues payments are made on time.
Where to Find Your Renewal Invoice in Your Company Profile
In addition to receiving them by email, primary contacts can access dues invoices during the renewal window in the membership tab, which you can find from your company profile by clicking Payments & History in the menu on the left and selecting the Membership tab at the top. (See video for a visual demonstration.)
This page shows when your company’s membership expires. During the renewal window, it also includes a link to securely renew your membership now. While your membership will renew when your dues are paid without clicking this link, it does provide an optional way to access your invoice from your company profile.
All current and past invoices are available in the Invoices tab. Change the Filter by status dropdown to Any Status to view all invoices.
