What is the future of plastic cap recycling?

There is incredible demand for the often unrecognized component of the non-bottle container stream - plastic cap material, which is used for applications ranging from buckets, containers, crates, carpet, tubes, closures, crates, automotive applications, as well as outdoor furniture. Reclaimers and Consumer Brand Companies are actively seeking PCR to incorporate into their packaging and seeking opportunities to grow the supply chain to support their increasing demand and commitment to sustainability.

"Custom Polymers routinely seeks additional sources of good clean material to process as feedstock for second use applications. APR’s Caps On program helps to Custom PolymersPET logoincrease that supply by educating state and local recycling programs to keep the cap attached to the bottle, which is the only way recyclers are able to capture that material. Plastic cap material is a valuable side stream in our process, and allows us to meet the ever increasing market demand for additional postconsumer feedstock."
