This presentation will go over the different REM requirements in Oregon, Colorado, and California and how they will impact plastic recyclers. Pierre Benabidès will also introduce CAA’s proposed approach for verification of REM requirements, with a formal consultation to be held by the end of the year.

8:30 AM – 11:30 AM — PET Technical Committee Meeting

The PET Technical Committee continues its work on design guidance and test methods for rigid PET packaging. Get the latest on our working groups’ efforts to reduce the impacts of labels on the PET recycling process, as well as develop test methods to evaluate the impacts of additives used in PET packaging on the recycling process. We’ll also hear from Kraft Heinz on Cut & Stack Labels.

Whether you’re new to APR or just need a refresher, join us for an overview of member benefits and how to take advantage of them—and take a tour of APR’s new website in the process.

1:00 PM – 2:30 PM — Communications & Public Affairs Committee Meeting

Don’t miss our guest speaker from the Carolina Plastics Recycling Council (CPRC). The Communications & Public Affairs Committee works with APR’s media and policy experts to ensure our industry and government understand the value of recycled content and the recycling process in reducing plastic waste. We’ll also be gathering ideas for the Plastics Recycling Conference—so bring your suggestions for what content you’d like to see!

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM — Olefins Technical Committee Meeting

Join us for a presentation by AI waste analytics company Greyparrot on clear, white, and food contact polypropylene MRF stream analysis. This Olefins Technical Committee meeting will cover ongoing efforts to fill gaps in design guidance for rigid olefin packaging, as well as progress reports from several working groups. Hear about efforts to provide more detailed guidance on the color space for natural HDPE, a clear PP stream, decorations, and dispensers.

3:15 PM – 5:00 PM — Market Development Committee Meeting

We’re kicking off the Market Development Committee Meeting with our regular overview of post-consumer markets. APR Chief Policy Officer Kate Bailey will also share a policy update on PCR content. We’ll be hearing reports from the Chemical Recycling Research Working Group, MRF Sub-committee, and PCR Content Working Group, with additional updates on the APR Demand Champions program, Buyers and Sellers Directory, and the relaunch of APR’s PCR Certification program.

3:15 PM – 5:15 PM — Films Technical Committee Meeting

Come see what we’re doing to expand data and guidance on flexible film packaging, including updates from three of our working groups. Get the latest on the Inks Working Group’s study of ink and varnish behavior in a film recycling process stream, as well as the Laminating Adhesives Working Group’s testing and analysis with key stakeholders across the industry. We’ll also hear from the Clean & Dry Working Group, which is testing the impacts of food product residue on the film recycling process to quantify “clean and dry” standards for store drop-off.

For the U.S. Plastics pact and its Activators, the past six months have been full of Roadmap deliverables reaching completion and many actionable resources made publicly available, but the best is yet to come our journey to achieve a circular economy for plastic packaging.

Yes, a member or non-member registration fee applies for each attendee, and rates increase as the meeting date approaches. Registration fees include access to all sessions, receptions, and meals.

Hotel and travel costs are not included in the registration fee. A discounted hotel rate is available if you book using the reservation link APR provided by APR on the event webpage.

You need to have an individual profile under your company’s membership.

  • Need access? Only your company’s primary contact can manage which individuals have access to your company’s membership. Please contact us to find out who your primary contact is and how that person can add users.

Approximately one week after the member meeting, APR members receive a recap email with links to all meeting materials. These materials can also be found in the APR Member Hub, where you can also find materials from past Member Meetings.

Registered member meeting attendees will receive the attendee list as part of a digital attendee packet in the pre-meeting email that typically goes out the week before the meeting, as well as in the daily emails that go out each morning during the meeting.
