New group eyes increase in PP packaging recycling with $35M in funding
The Polypropylene Recycling Coalition, a new industry group that aims to improve recycling of PP packaging, is pledging $35 million over five years to help recover more material and develop end markets. The group was launched July 8 by the Falls Church, Va.-based group The Recycling Partnership, which said its funders have set an initial target of $35 million and are seeking additional supporters.
The money will include grants to material recovery facilities for better sortation and consumer education to collect more PP from residential recycling, TRP said in the announcement.
