Plastics pact presents a road map to a circular future for packaging
The U.S. Plastics Pact, a network of nearly 100 brands, governments, environmental groups and plastics firms, released its road map for plastic packaging and called for policy changes like extended producer responsibility and deposit systems to collect more material for recycling.
The 36-page road map sketches out the big changes it says are needed to hit the pact's ambitious 2025 targets like a 50 percent recycling rate for plastic packaging and an average of 30 percent recycled or bio-based content.
